Wed. June 11 - Qualifying Session 1 & 2

11:51 - Major accident with the Lola Mazda prototype and red flag. This will be the end of the session. Driver is out of car and communicating with rescue personnel.
We will be back on track tomorrow at 19:00 CET. See you then - Jennifer

11:26 - Johannes pits for fuel, and driver change to Seth.

11:05 - Green flag. Johannes will go out now to do his night laps and get some time in the car. Of the three drivers, Johannes has had the least time in the car so far here (due to the heavy rain on the test day).

11:00- The No. 16 is coming in on a flat bed - Dumas apparently spun on oil from the Aston Martin - looks like some significant damage to the No. 16.

10:55 - Still red flag. No ETA on green.

10:44 - Still a red flag - the TV shows Romain Dumas (No. 16 Pescarolo) out of his car and jogging down the track back to pit lane. Reports are that there are oil form the Porsche curves to pit lane - probably from the earlier No. 59 Aston Martin motor problem. Still unclear what happened to the No. 16.

10:33 - the No. 59 is off course and appears to be unable to continue. Red flag.
Eurosport France is broadcasting today's qualifying sessions. Free video (in French) is available at http://video.eurosport.fr/automoto/qualifs-des-24-heures-du-m_vid75206/video.shtml

10:13 - Joerg pits for driver change to Seth Neiman.

10:05 pm - Joerg is out again in the second session. He moved into P1 quickly with a 4:00.106. Patrick Long in the No. 76 Porsche is P2. the No. 41 is off course in the gravel, but still green flag.

9:00 - Joerg ends the session P2, after the No. 76 Porsche with Patrick Long takes P1 in the last few minutes of the session. We'll take a short break and be back on track in 1 hour at 22:00 CET.

8:40 - Joerg radios in that the most recent setup change made the car unbalanced and he pits for another change.

8:22 pm - Joerg is P2 after just 2 laps, one second behind Sugden in the No. 96 Ferrari.

8:04 pm - All going OK so far in the session. Seth is back in the garage and Joerg is ready to head out.

7:30 pm CET - We are 30 minutes into the first of two qualifying sessions today. Each session is 2 hours - 19:00-21:00; 22:00-24:00 CET. There are two more qualifying sessions on Thursday - same schedule. For the 24 Heures du Mans, qualifying times are the fastest time set by a car over the four sessions. Also, each driver must also do 3 laps at night - in either of the two night sessions.

Driver Seth Neiman is currently out in the Lizard No. 80 Porsche.

Because of the rain on the test day, most teams did not have much track time during the test to make progress on their race setups. The Lizards will use these qualifying sessions to get to their setup - they also want to get some fast qualifying times, but priority is setup. There is a chance of rain tomorrow (thursday) so the team wants to get as much out of the way today as they can, just in case track time is limited.

The second qualifying session today will be broadcast live on Eurosport 2 in Europe. Radio Le Mans is also broadcasting English language radio online www.radiolemans.com

Flying Lizard will broadcast their radio during the race - starting Saturday June 14.
