Thu. June 12 - Qualifying Sessions 3 & 4

10:46 - Johannes is back in the garage and we are closing down for the night. We currently have the fourth fastest time in GT2. There's still time left in the session, but we have accomplished what we need to for this session. If the times stay the same in the field, we will start fourth on the grid on Saturday. We'll be back with you again on Saturday morning for the morning warmup at 9:00 am CET.

10:27 pm - we are just about 30 minutes into the session. The track is dry and very cool and times have fallen significantly. We are now P4 with the No. 76 IMSA Matmut Porsche in P1, the No. 77 Team Felbermayr Porsche in P2 and the No. 96 Virgo Ferrari in P3. Johannes is in the car. He will be the only one of the three Lizard drivers to go out in this evening's session.

8:48 pm - Looks like the session will not restart after the earlier incidents so we'll sign off until 10:00 - just over an hour from now. See you then.

8:31 pm - The No. 59 Aston Martin was slow on course, and then lost a wheel. Separately, the No. 14 Creation prototype impacted the wall at Tetre Rouge. Unclear yet what happened, but driver is out of the car. Red flag, with a lot of debris on the track. The skies have cleared and the sun is out so things are looking good for the second session of the evening, which will start at 10:00 pm CET.

8:26 pm CET - Johannes reports a problem with the driver door and he is called in to the pits. Also one of the Peugeots is in the wall, just after the Porsche curves.

8:04 pm CET - So far, the rain has held off - we are still P 1, and Seth is having a good stint. He will do 10 laps and then hand the wheel off to Johannes. We have our race engine and gearbox in so this is our last chance to shake everything down before the race starts on Saturday.

7:30 pm CET - Green flag and Seth heads out.

7:14 pm CET - The first qualifying session today started with a red flag to clearn up after the Matmut prototype impacted the wall. Seth Neiman is in the car, sitting in the pits waiting for the green flag. It has been raining intermittently all day today and is noticeably cooler than yesterday. Joerg had the fastest time of the two sessions yesterday - we'll see what happens in the two sessions tonight (7 to 9 pm CET and 10 to 12) - if it continues to rain, teams will not be able to get up to full speed.

12AM here in Atlanta. We are finishing up some blog post ourselves, play a little bit of GRID, get some sleep and be back cheering the Lizards on in a few hours!

Keep the rubber side down!
